Storm Shelters Prices and Sizes

How much does a storm shelter cost?

We list our prices unlike most that would rather have a salesman call you. It also makes it much easier to raise the price after a tornado hits close. We don't price gouge.

About Installation

* Prices are for the unit only and do not include storm shelter installation or shipping. Installations cover anywhere in Arkansas or near the Arkansas state line. Installation starts at $1300, depending on distance and shelter size. It does not cover hitting a large amount of rock that a regular machine cannot get through without incurring excessive time. Although standard equipment can handle most rocks, it cannot penetrate some solid ones. You can choose to bury it as deep as possible or rent what is called a Ram Hole. This equipment rents for approximately $3,000. Installation does not include hauling off excess dirt; this is typically an additional $500 ($750 for 6x10 or 6x12). It does not cover any additional trips back unless a problem arises during installation. Installers cannot return to landscape your yard or fill in more dirt at no extra charge. All installers are bonded and insured. If it happens to float, which is extremely rare. We will split the cost with you to re-install it. All installations are subcontracted to companies or individuals that have proven to meet our high standards. We include their fees on our invoice for your convenience.

We can also help arrange shipping. Many people choose to bring a 16-foot trailer, pick up their shelter, and have someone local install it, all of which weigh under 3,000 pounds. Trailers must be at least 6'8" inside width for the 6x8 size and up. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Time frame

We base turnaround time on completing three to four shelters each week. That doesn't always happen. Sometimes we receive an order for a shelter that includes almost every option we offer. If it is a 12' model, that can take a whole week. Sometimes we can't get the metal for one size, so we build another size to keep it moving. That puts some ahead and some behind schedule.

We have hired extra help in the past when so many shelters were ordered. We found we spent more time fixing their mistakes, which took a toll on the final product. We think you would rather wait and get the exceptional quality shelter with the same high-quality crew we have used for years. It's what you expect; it's what you will get. Please understand and be patient. Thanks!

Our timeframe quotes can only be a rough estimate.

Shipping and pickup information

Over 60% of our customers are from out of state. This information is provided for you, which might be needed for shipping quotes or determining the size of the trailer required to pick up your unit. Please note that when picking up your finished unit, we need at least two business days' notice to make your pickup as easy and smooth as possible. All shelters except the 5x6 require a trailer at least 6'8" wide inside.

If your shelter is being shipped, we must have the balance before it is picked up.
